Here is everything you need to know about taking a shot at designing the box for the DMAR deck.
We are restricting entry to artists who DON’T have a card in the box. I had to turn away quite a few disappointed artists from contributing to the cards, so I hope this will give you a second chance to be included in this project.
We will accept either fully designed print-ready files or more sketchy 3d or concept stuff. Submit your work to DMAR instagram just as if it were any DTIYS entry. We’ll have a vote to get a shortlist and then work with the author(s) of the most popular one(s) to finalise the box design.
If the winning design is not print-ready we (that’s @Braindeef and @NickJamesIllustrator) will work with you to get it sorted and ready to go.
Here is a template of what the box illustrated above will look like as it’s printed flat in the printshop.
Check out the resources available from the download buttons, especially if you work digitally.
Here’s another example to show how the flat print relates to the finished product.
The information blurb will say something like this:
What you’re holding is the first ever DMAR Deck! It was our privilege to get to bring together over 50 Artists from all around the WORLD and collaborate on this Deck. The Robot Army answered the call and with your art, time, and unwavering support we were able to make this happen. 100% of profits are going to the TRIO SSS Program at Oxnard College!
Those words can be in a panel or incorporated into the design itself, as you wish.
Please also include something like
“First edition – limited to 100 sets.”
or
“Limited Edition”
either in the panel and/or anywhere else you like on the box design.
